ETW #64 Interview with Travel Writer Daniel Baylis

Cliffs of Masada, Israel

This week travel writer and photographer Daniel Baylis joins us to talk about his adventures, his books and more! Daniel has had some of the most amazing travel adventures of anyone I know, but more than interesting trips they were meaningful ones as well. This week we learn more about them, what impact they had and what’s next for Daniel.

You can listen to the podcast here on this page or on any of these services: iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, Stitcher.

While thousands of people have written travel memoirs over the years, perhaps not all should have. What makes for an excellent travel narrative is hard to quantify, but it’s always immediately noticeable. Such is the case with the work of Daniel Bayliss, who joins the show this week to talk more about his life experiences, travels and what the future holds for those of us who love to explore the world.

Daniel Baylis is a writer and photographer. For the past decade he has embarked upon unusual global adventures that have included walking 1000 kilometers across Israel/Palestine, cycling 5000 kilometers across India, and contemplating communism in Cuba. His book, The Traveller: Notes from an Imperfect Journey Around the World, documents one year of attempting to be helpful in twelve diverse corners of the world. In the summer of 2020, Daniel will release his first collection of poetry, entitled A Submission to Love. Please be sure to follow Daniel on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook!.
