Last year I had the great opportunity to travel on safari with the world leader in luxury travel experiences, Abercrombie & Kent. As I’ve detailed here on the site and elsewhere, spending time in Tanzania and exploring the many parks and reserves was one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life, thanks almost entirely to the expertise of Abercrombie & Kent. Sure, there are a lot of companies that offer tours and experiences around the world, but no one does it as well as the folks at Abercrombie & Kent. They invented the concept of experiential luxury travel and have been perfecting it ever since. That’s one of many reasons why I’m excited to join them once again, but on a very different kind of adventure.
Starting this week, I’ll be enjoying time on a Connections Boutique Group Journey around the Seven Cities of Spain. It’s Abercrombie & Kent, so I know that every last detail will be considered, but because it’s one of their Connections Journeys, it’ll be a little different from my Tanzanian safari.
Connections Journeys are Boutique Group trips that focus on the destination and, almost more importantly, the local people and culture. They’re meant to be immersive trips, led by individuals who call the destinations home and who understand the cities and towns better than almost anyone else. Using carefully crafted itineraries, small one-of-a-kind hotels and special immersive experiences, the goal of Connections is not to just see new places, but to live them.
I honestly can’t wait to get started, not only to experience what this tour type offered by Abercrombie & Kent is like, but also to see more of Spain. My past travel experience in the country is fairly limited and most of the cities on the itinerary this week will be completely new to me. More than that, I am very much looking forward to learning more about the local culture and of course, trying as many new foods as possible. Food is an important aspect of any Connections Boutique Group Journey, but in Spain I imagine it’ll take on a place of prominence. From my own experiences, I know that the story of Spain is best understood through the stomach, a lesson I’m always happy to undertake.
I’m working with Abercrombie & Kent to help share this type of journey but, as always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. I’ll be traveling solo on this trip and it just so happens that Abercrombie & Kent is offering a special discount for fellow solo travelers. If you book your Connections Boutique Group Journey between now and May 31, you’ll save 50% on the single supplement on select departures throughout the summer.
I can’t wait to get started and to experience Spain in a completely different way. I am also looking forward to learning even more about a company I have come to know and respect and to see how they help me better understand the beautiful cities of Spain.Add to Flipboard Magazine.
