There are a few places that have been on my travel wish list for many years, and Croatia was one of them. I say was because I arrived yesterday into the city of Zagreb, Croatia to start what should be an amazing experience.
For the next week or so my blogger friend Rachelle Lucas (@TravelBlggr and The Travel Bite ) and I will be covering a lot of ground in this picturesque country as the guests of Croatian Tourism. The purpose of the trip is simple, to see some of the highlights that any first time visitor would enjoy so that I can share them with you.
The itinerary is packed with a fantastic mixture of sightseeing and adventure, from a Segway Tour of Zagreb to hiking through some of Croatia’s many national parks and so much more. After only a day I can see why the capital city Zagreb is so popular and I can’t wait to experience the rest of the country and see for myself what makes Croatia so special.
Throughout the trip just follow the hashtag #EssentialCroatia to see the latest photos and stories from my first-time visit to Croatia.
Is there anything in particular you think I shouldn’t miss?
If you are in the neighborhood, don’t miss Mali ston. It is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. It has a beautiful bay. Two great restaurants and an awesome hotel (hotel ostrea).
Also, if you like wine stop by at one of the vinyards you’ll be passing. You can taste the wine you want and purchase very delicious and low cost wines.
Enjoy your stay in croatia!
Yes! We were in Ston, loved it there
That’s perfect!
I’m gonna travel to Croatia in the end of the year, so it will be great to get the hints here!
I’ll ask a favor. When you go to the national parks, please check with them the conditions on December. It will help me a lot, and many others.
Enjoy the trip!
Cheers!
Will do!
That info. will be forthcoming!
Oh nice! We’re heading there late summer. Would love to see some more photos. =)

Looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing about your experience as you travel around the country. I really enjoyed Rovinj and Pula. Not as popular as some of the locations further down the coast, but worth a visit in my opinion.
You were great yesterday – thank you for tweeting and spreading great news about Zagreb and Croatia! :)
ZAGREB is the best town in croatia :)
I thought you’d say that :) glad to see you on here!
