Local is the theme for this week’s #FriFotos event on Twitter. Most people would take this opportunity to share photos of their region or hometown, which makes perfect sense. Sadly, and oddly, however I don’t have a lot of photos featuring my hometown of Washington, DC, a problem I hope to soon correct. So I decided today to instead feature some photos of locals I’ve met on my travels. These individuals sometimes added a lot to my trip and other times didn’t add much except for their presence. Regardless, I think these photos are a poignant look at what it means to be local around the world.

wow. where’s the place with the person in the rock pond looking at the lake and snow mountains?
Ohh, that’s a very small natural thermal pool in Iceland. Pretty awesome bathtub if you ask me. (Odd he didn’t seem to mind us taking photos)
Those are some beautiful photos. They really do say a lot with no words. =)
Thanks Nicole!
