Recently the Northern Territory of Australia, in conjunction with the amazing National Geographic travel writer Andrew Evans, hosted a contest asking people to name the reason why the Northern Territory is the place they would most like to visit in Australia. Entries were accepted via Twitter and yesterday they announced the winner – me.
HappyHusky is my personal Twitter account and is a reference to my dogs.
I am thrilled and honored to have won and cannot wait to explore the Outback, as well as many other areas of Australia. It has long been a dream to travel to the land down under, and I am happy beyond belief that, thanks to the Northern Territory and Andrew Evans, I will now have that chance.
At this time, I am not sure when we’re going or what we’ll be doing exactly, but I do know we’ll be starting the trip in Alice Springs, exploring the Outback in a camper van. That’s right, for five nights we’ll be sleeping under the wide Australian sky that never seems to end, listening to the faint rustle of wildlife in the distance.
So stay tuned and as we plan the trip, I will include you all and when we go I hope you’ll share in the adventure with me.

The NT is the place of dreams, my dreams. To see the biggest earth and the biggest sky in the world would be awe-inspiring.
