Once again today I have chosen two photos as my pick for favorite photos of 2010. Both were taken on the tropical island of Lana’i in Hawaii, but reveal vastly different sides to the small island.
The top photo is a classic shot of the pool and beach areas of the Four Seasons Manele Bay resort, one of just three hotels on the island and the only one on the water. The second photo was taken first thing in the morning at the Koele stables, in the island’s highlands. The morning fog was rolling down the mountains as I took this photo on a strangely chilly morning. Strange because just a few miles away at Manele, the sun was shining and another hot Hawaiian day was starting.
These photos more than anything demonstrate why I love this tiny island, because of the many features which are totally unexpected but absolutely breathtaking to behold.
I’m not a resort person but I would LOVE to stay there. Great picks for Day 4.
Thanks! Yeah, it’s a very special place. And a little pampering once in a while is a good thing! :)
What a great photo. Its like sea is divided and made and island on it.
