On a trip to the Bahamas sponsored by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, we had the opportunity to go boating around the Nassau and Rose Island areas. A brief stop on our water tour was at the Sandy Toes Beach Bar for a great island lunch.
This isn’t your typical restaurant though – the only way to get there is by boat. Luckily this isn’t too much of an impediment in the Bahamas and it’s pretty easy to get there from Nassau.
The menu is simple, but perfect for relaxing after a day of boating. I had a burger and a bottle of Sands beer. The burger was actually made on an outdoor grill and the combo of the great weather, burgers and beer made for a very relaxing time. They also have a pretty comprehensive drinks menu for those in more of a party mood. Just make sure you have a designated boater.
If you want to spend a relaxing afternoon enjoying good food and drinks and soaking in the beach atmosphere, this is the place for you. They even have hammocks for those impromptu afternoon naps.
What a cool place, shame about the weather!
Weather or not…This place is still a blast. It’s the Bahamas!
Truer words have never been uttered. :) Planning my return already – apparently I’m a Bahamas addict.
these photos really make me want to go for the first time.
