Last fall we took advantage of a four day weekend and booked a very last minute trip to Dublin. Since we only had a couple of days, we had to be extremely efficient in order to make the most out of this whirlwind trip.
Dublin is a great European capital with a lively and dynamic central core. Our location near Trinity College afforded us the opportunity to explore a great deal of Dublin in a short period of time.
Here is our two day experience in pictures.
Wow the buildings are so beautiful! How much would you say a four day weekend trip to Ireland would cost coming from the US?
It really is a beautiful city. As for how much it would cost, that’s really hard to say as factors include where you are flying from, when, which hotel you stay in, etc. BUT, a reasonable budget would be anywhere from $1500-$1800 for two people. Depending on time of year, airfare could be as cheap as $500-$650 per person, then the hotel could be as cheap as you would like!
If you are flexible, sign up for last minute deal emails from the major travel booking sites as well as the airlines. You’d be surprised at some of the great bargains!
Great pictures Matt – we took a five day trip to Dublin last July it was awesome – I tried to talk my husband into going back this spring.
Krista – Continental has some great fares $450 – $800 round trip from US

Hi from Dublin Matt,
I don’t know how you got that photo of the cells of Kilmainham Jail but it’s great to let people see.
Keep the great travel photos coming.
Cheers Brian.
Thanks Brian, I appreciate it. Even though our time in the city was short, it quickly became a favorite of ours.
