This week we’re learning all about what travel agents really do & when travelers should work with them. I’ve always been confused about the world of travel agents, or specialists as they’re called today. Can you really save money? Do they really score secret upgrades? In this podcast we answer those questions and more.
The world of the travel agent, or travel specialist, has changed in any number of ways in recent years. The internet was thought to have dealt a death blow to the profession, but in 2020 they’re back and more popular than ever. I admit, it took me a very long time to understand the real value of working with a travel specialist, which is one reason why today I wanted to address the subject in depth. Today we’re joined by the owner of an agency who shares both his experience and expertise. We also learn more about his very specific niche and what he’s doing to give back to the LGBTQ community.
Brandon Foster is what Disney calls an ‘insatiable kidult’ — a grown-up who never quite grew-up. He’s been planning Disney World®, Disneyland®, and Disney Cruise Line® trips for family members and friends for a long time and gradually realized how much he loved doing it. He loved it so much that he decided to found his own travel agency — Magic Lamp Vacations. He and his team are experts at planning the perfect, stress free and magical vacation for just about anyone.
The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning (LGBTQ) young people under 25. Through a toll-free telephone number, it operates The Trevor Lifeline, a confidential service that offers trained counselors.
In honor of June Pride month, and because of Brandon’s firm belief in their mission, he has pledged to donate 10% of all Magic Lamp Vacations© commissions from suppliers to the Trevor Project for any Disney or Universal vacation booked now through August of 2020 with travel dates during June, July, or August of 2020.
