Global Luxury Travel Market Looks to Reach $1,615 Billion by 2026

Allied Market Research has published a new report on “Luxury Travel Market: Global Opportunity Analysis and Industry Forecast, 2019–2026”, providing an outlook luxury market’s rise over the next several years.

The global luxury travel market, consisting of services that provide premium and most-desirable types of accommodations, transport and cultural encounters, was valued at over $891 billion in 2018.

Disney Skyliner opens

The Disney Skyliner gondola transportation system at Disney World officially opened to the public Sunday.

The system has five stations connecting the Epcot and Disney Hollywood Studios parks with four resorts. The station for Disney’s Hollywood Studios is located near the park’s entrance, and the Epcot station is located at the International Gateway, the park entrance located between its France and England pavilions.

American Airlines plans to expand service from MIA to Latin America

American Airlines plans to add flights to existing routes from Miami International Airport to three Latin American cities in 2020.

Already MIA’s largest carrier, American announced Monday it will add a third daily flight from Miami to Lima, Peru in April 2020, a second to Santiago, Chile, and a third to São Paulo, Brazil in winter of next year. Tickets will go on sale later this year.


500 Spain hotels ‘to close immediately’ after Thomas Cook fall

Hundreds of hotels in Spain are facing imminent closure over the collapse of British travel giant Thomas Cook, the head of the Spanish hotel federation warned on Monday.

“There are 500 hotels which are going to close immediately due to the collapse of Thomas Cook and the situation could get worse if the government doesn’t take immediate action,” Juan Molas, head of Spain’s Confederation of Hotels and Tourist Accommodation, told business daily Cinco Dias.
