Bahamas

People travel to places like the Bahamas to get away from it all, to relax and decompress. Just like anywhere else though the individual islands of the Bahamas are each different and definitely have their own personalities. I’ve only visited a few of the many different islands, but even those experiences were very different from one another. To help us better understand what there is to see and do in The Bahamas this week I interviewed travel expert Angie Orth who knows more about the islands than anyone else I’ve met.

Angie Orth is a recovering agency publicist with more than 15 years in the marketing industry and 13 years as an award-winning content creator. She created AngieAway.com to chronicle a yearlong round-the-world trip that accidentally became a career. Angie’s adventures have landed her on the Today Show, the New York Post, Cosmopolitan, Buzzfeed, AFAR and Glamour. AngieAway.com was named as one of Southern Living’s “30 Best Blogs to Follow.” She currently produces and co-hosts The Jet Sisters, a video series focusing on Millennial travel.

Angie continues to work as a consultant, helping brands to create ambassador programs. She holds a B.S. in Public Relations from the University of Florida. After stints in Atlanta and New York, followed by a multi-year solo trip around the world, Angie is back home in Jacksonville, Fla., where she’s renovating a 1940s cottage with her husband. Currently, Angie and her Florida-based team cover a broad spectrum of topics, from Slytherin fashion tips to how to have the “roots and wings” lifestyle.
