Royal Caribbean cancels 3 sail dates for Oasis of the Seas after cruise ship-crane accident

Royal Caribbean customers are learning Oasis of the Seas will not be sailing out of Port Canaveral on three dates in April after damage caused by a crane in the Bahamas.

Sail dates for April 7, 14, and 21 have been canceled, Royal Caribbean told customers via Twitter.

Royal Caribbean officials have been assessing possible damage to the Oasis of the Seas, one of the world’s largest cruise ships, after a crane apparently slammed into the vessel as it sat in dry dock in Freeport Monday.


Delta Air Lines Launches New International Flights With Partners

For travelers looking for more options when booking international flights, Delta Air Lines has introduced and announced several new routes intended to serve its customers better.

Delta launched two new international flights to Boston Logan International Airport as part of a joint venture with partners KLM and Virgin Atlantic. The carrier added two daily flights to Amsterdam operated by KLM and three daily flights to Heathrow Airport operated by Virgin Atlantic.


Report: Amtrak considers bringing back Detroit-Toronto train service

A passenger rail connecting Detroit and Toronto is up for discussion in the future.

According to Curbed Detroit, Amtrak presented a plan and grant request to Congress for fiscal year 2020 that including a line item labeled, “restoration of the Detroit-Toronto Service.” As for funding, the report listed it as “TBD.”

Amtrak’s annual report submitted to Congress did not include a construction timeline.


Americans’ overseas travel surged in 2018

The number of international trips taken by U.S. citizens jumped 6% in 2018, according to the National Travel and Tourism Office.

In total, U.S. citizens took 93 million trips abroad last year.

The largest jump was in air travel to overseas markets. Air travel by U.S. citizens to Europe was up 12%; to the Oceania region, 11%; to South America, 9%; and to Asia, 8%.
