Boeing charged airlines for additional safety features on 737 Max jets

The Boeing 737 Max jet that has been linked to two deadly crashes failed to include two safety functions in its standard model, features that cost extra for airlines that bought the planes.

An angle of attack indicator, or two exterior sensors that tell pilots the angle of their plane, was one of the two safety features that came at an additional cost to airlines. The other, a disagreement alert, would then warn those in the cockpit whether the sensors were providing conflicting information.

AAA projects that nearly 100 million Americans will take a family vacation at some point in 2019.

While the figure is slightly higher than last year, it still only represents about four in 10 U.S. adults. According to the recent AAA Travel survey, many families are planning spring and summer road trips.

Hawaii at a ‘tipping point’ of overtourism, travel experts claim

Paradise may soon have no vacancies, if some Hawaiian travel experts are to be believed.

In a paper published by the University of Hawaii (UH), researchers claim that tourism in Hawaii has hit a so-called “tipping point” of overtourism as increasing numbers of annual visitors are reportedly on the brink of overwhelming the island state’s resources, damaging the quality of life for residents and negatively impacting general economic vitality.
