Instagram Launches Direct Purchasing for Fashions Brands But Travel Is Missing in Action

After years of ogling beautiful images of food, fashion and design on Instagram, people will now be able to buy things they see and like directly through the app — providing instant gratification for the trend-obsessed and a new source of income for parent Facebook Inc.

Starting Tuesday, the photo-sharing app is testing a shopping feature, called Checkout, with a handful of retailers including Nike Inc. and designer fashion platform Revolve.

Brazil dropping visa requirement for U.S. visitors

Following last year’s easing of visa restrictions, Brazil will soon allow American travelers to enter the country without a visa.

Beginning June 17, citizens of the U.S. as well as Canada, Australia and Japan will be able to visit Brazil for up to 90 days from the date of entry without a visa, and visitors can request to extend that stay to 180 days within a 12-month period.
