U by Uniworld is now U River Cruises

The Travel Corporation’s experiment in a millennial-focused river cruise line has taken another unexpected turn — a name change.

Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection CEO Ellen Bettridge announced to 500 staff members gathering at its annual preseason Kickoff event aboard the S.S. Antionette that U by Uniworld has changed its name to U River Cruises.


Airports scramble to handle drone incidents

Drones have become an increasing nuisance for airports worldwide in recent months, and good solutions to keep them from interfering with flights aren’t yet available.

Airports in various cities — including Newark, New Jersey; Gatwick, England; Dublin, Ireland and Dubai — have grounded planes in the last three months following drone sightings.

The incident at Gatwick in December proved especially disruptive, impacting the flights of more than 100,000 passengers. In 2017, a drone hit a commercial airplane approaching Quebec City in Canada. The plane landed safely.

Italian officials are threatening to fine holidaymakers up to 2,500 euros for walking along its scenic trails in flip flops, sandals or other unsuitable footwear this summer, as rescuers say they’re fed up of having to save inappropriately-dressed daytrippers stranded on the steep, narrow footpaths.


Disney’s new ‘Star Wars’ Galaxy’s Edge theme park lands will open earlier than expected

Fans of “Star Wars” will be able to visit the planet Batuu a bit earlier than expected.

The Walt Disney Company announced Thursday that its new “Star Wars” lands Galaxy’s Edge will open on May 31 at its California park and on Aug. 29 in Florida.

Disney had previously slated Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to open in Anaheim in summer 2019 and in the fall in Orlando.
