Kenya airport strike strands hundreds of passengers

Hundreds of passengers were stranded at Kenya’s main international airport after a strike caused major disruption to flights.

The military was deployed to try to overcome the industrial action at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta airport.

By late afternoon, Kenya Airways said most of its affected departing flights had been rescheduled. However, some regional flights have been cancelled.

 

Accor and SBE launch luxury hotel collection

Accor and SBE have collaborated to launch the House of Originals, a collection for independent luxury hotels.

The House of Originals will showcase high-end hotels that are “individually special to the city in which each resides.”

 

Alaska Airlines flight puts Washington state’s Paine Field back on U.S. aviation map

It’s official: Paine Field (PAE) in Everett, Washington, is the newest dot on the USA’s commercial aviation map.

Alaska Airlines became the first commercial carrier in decades to fly from Everett, located about 25 miles north of downtown Seattle, on Monday, launching service from the nation’s newest passenger terminal with a flight to Portland, Oregon.
