Delta Bolstering Service for Brazil’s Carnival

For travelers who want to experience Brazil’s famous Carnival, Delta Air Lines is offering nonstop seasonal service between New York City and Rio de Janeiro.

The flights from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York to Rio de Janeiro–Antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport in Brazil will operate overnight southbound as before, but the service will now return northbound in the morning.


Dollywood to open ‘wild’ new land focused on families

IHG augments luxury portfolio with Six Senses acquisition

InterContinental Hotels Group has acquired Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas from Pegasus Capital Advisors for $300 million, giving IHG another luxury brand.

The company has increased its luxury market presence in recent years, acquiring Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in 2015 and Regent Hotels & Resorts last year. With the addition of wellness-focused Six Senses, IHG will have four luxury brands, led by the eponymous InterContinental Hotels & Resorts.


Mexico Makes Risky Bet by Moving Global Tourism Effort to Embassies

Fresh off a presidential election — and a prolonged effort to encourage visitation to Mexico despite concerns about crime — the country’s new government is dismantling its international tourism marketing machine.

Rather than promote the destination out of offices spread around the world, Mexico plans to use its consulates and embassies.
