Industry trade organization Airlines for America (A4A) announced Tuesday that it projects 45.7 million passengers will travel on United States airlines over the 18-day winter holiday travel period.
This year’s holiday travel period runs between December 20 and January 6, and officials believe the busiest travel days will be (in order), December 21, December 20 and December 26. The lightest travel days are expected to be Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, followed by January 5.
Delta Launches New Branded Boarding
Delta Air Lines is making zoned boarding a thing of the past.
Starting on January 23, 2019, boarding with Delta will be by branded fare purchased.
The new boarding structure builds on Delta’s progress to provide consistency, simplicity and clarity to the gate and boarding experience, which have, so far, delivered all-time high customer experience scores.
A cyberattack on the Marriot International Inc. MAR, -0.70% hotel chain has been linked to a Chinese government spy agency, The New York Times reported Tuesday, citing sources. As well, the intelligence-gathering efforts also involved a hack into health insurers and security clearance file on millions of U.S. citizens. The spies are believed to work for the Ministry of State Security, and the news comes amid reports the Trump administration could be nearing action on the country’s trade, cyber and economic policies.

The 1,260-room Hyatt Regency Seattle has opened in the heart of the city. This major meeting property is just two blocks from the Washington State Convention Center and will be adjacent to the center’s expansion, the new Summit, that will open in spring 2022.
