Carnival to review security response to brawls on Australia-based ship

Cruise giant Carnival is promising an investigation into its handling of a series of brawls that broke out last week on a ship based in Australia.
Video of the incidents aboard the Carnival Legend posted online include a scene where Carnival security guards violently kick passengers who are down on the ground.
“The actions seen on the video by our security team are not in line with our values and policies,” the Miami-based line said Monday in a statement sent to USA TODAY. “We are conducting a full investigation and will take appropriate corrective action as necessary.”

 

Luxury travel agencies are still growing — but watch out for the millennials

Travel agents may seem passe in the age of countless apps and websites, but in the luxury travel sector, traditions aren’t being tossed away just yet.
In fact, 40 percent of luxury travel trips are booked through travel agencies compared to just 27 percent of all international outbound trips, according to a report by ITB Berlin, a world travel trade show, and IPK International, a tourism consulting group.
The study also found that more than half of international luxury travelers used agencies as an information source.

The Disney theme parks may be timeless and offer reassuring adventures with old pals such as Peter Pan, Dumbo, and the “it’s a small word” dolls. But they are also constantly evolving and introducing new attractions and experiences. Disney trumpeted the massive expansion underway at its worldwide collection of parks by offering details of previously announced additions and unveiling new developments at the D23 Expo recently held at the Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan.
Speaking to the eager fans assembled for the expo, Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek highlighted the many ways that Marvel, Pixar, and Lucasfilm properties will find new homes in the parks.
