Airlines Preparing for Winter Storm Grayson

As Winter Storm Grayson heads toward the Northeast coastline Thursday, the top airlines in the United States have started offering travel waivers due to possible delays and cancellations.

Thanks to what meteorologists at Weather.com call bombogenesis, areas throughout the Mid-Atlantic, New England and Southeast will experience heavy snow, damaging winds, battering waves and coastal flooding over the coming days.

The very mention of Transylvania conjures up pictures of just one thing all over the world … the legend of Count Dracula. However, the region is starting to become famous for a different type of tourism unconnected to vampires, garlic, and wooden stakes.

Transylvania is developing a reputation for ‘slow tourism’ with hiking, horse riding, and other bucolic pursuits all growing in popularity. Much of the area’s charm comes from how incredibly unspoilt the landscape is. It has been described as “the last truly medieval landscape in Europe” and hikers can quiet easily encounter brown bears, wolves, lynx, and other wildlife while roaming.

Airbnb has secured a $200 million investment that will fuel the rollout of its very own branded apartment buildings across the U.S.

According to The Mercury News, the home-sharing platform has partnered with Miami-based Newgard Development Group to launch Niido Powered by Airbnb, apartments specifically designed for short-term rentals.

 

New cruise itinerary from Princess: New York to Greenland and back

Is a trip to Greenland on your bucket list? There’s a new way to get there from the United States without stepping on an airplane.

Princess Cruises has unveiled a new route that will take vacationers from New York to Greenland and back by ship.

For now, the California-based line only is offering a single departure of the 16-day itinerary: Aug. 19, 2019.

The voyage will take place on the 3,140-passenger Caribbean Princess and feature calls in Nuuk, Qaqortoq and Nanortalik, Greenland.
