Delta adds auto check-in

Delta now automatically checks passengers into their domestic flights 24 hours before departure.

Delta will send travelers an email or push alert notifying them their boarding pass is ready. Passengers then acknowledge the government mandate for restricted items through Delta’s app to access the boarding pass.


Man Dies Taking Photos at Chicago Hotel

A man fell more than a dozen stories to his death from the LondonHouse Chicago hotel Monday.

The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. local time and was ruled an accident.

The Chicago Tribune identified the man as 44-year-old Eric Janssen, a vice president for the Sandusky Newspaper Group in Memphis, Tennessee.

Janssen was trespassing while taking photos on the 20th floor when he fell and struck a rooftop on the sixth story. Police said the avid traveler was visiting Chicago for Open House Chicago, an architectural tour offering behind-the-scenes access to hundreds of buildings throughout the city.


Viking Ocean Cruises unveils plans for another epic world sailing

Viking Ocean Cruises has announced plans for another epic world cruise — only its second ever.

Kicking off Jan. 9, 2019 in Miami, the 128-day voyage will span nearly the entire globe and include stops in 44 ports in 21 countries.

The sailing will take place on Viking’s soon-to-debut, 930-passenger Viking Sun, the same ship that in December will operate Viking’s first world cruise.


InterContinental is bringing two new hotel brands to Asia

U.K.-based InterContinental Hotels Group announced Wednesday it is planning to bring two of its hotel brands to China and Asia Pacific in an attempt to capture new breeds of consumers — the wellness enthusiasts and the wealthy.

The new brands are Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants, a luxury boutique chain that operates mostly in the United States, and Even Hotels, which focuses on incorporating health and wellness into the travel experience.
