Second Terror Attack Halted, Police Say, After 13 Killed, 100 Injured In Barcelona

Hours after a van drove into a crowd of people in Barcelona, Spain, Spanish police say they’ve thwarted a second terrorist attack.

Authorities say the two attacks are linked.

Police say five suspects wearing explosives — later determined to be fake — were killed after a shootout with security forces in the Catalan coastal town of Cambrils located about 70 miles southwest of Barcelona. Six civilians and a police officer were injured, police say.


Rental Cars Selling Out Ahead of Solar Eclipse

Rental cars in Portland, Oregon, Nashville, Tennessee and other destinations in and around the upcoming solar eclipse’s path of totality are booking up in a hurry.

According to KGW, Enterprise, Hertz and Avis are sold out of rental vehicles in the Greater Portland area as of Thursday.


American adds Budapest and Prague to its route map

American Airlines is boosting its presence in Europe, announcing two seasonal destinations and additional flights to another.

The new cities joining American’s route map are Budapest and Prague. The carrier will serve both cities from its Philadelphia hub, offering daily round-trip service from May 4 through Oct. 27 on Boeing 767-300 aircraft.

The service returns American to Budapest for the first time since 2011, when it served the route from its hub at New York JFK. Prague is a new destination for American.


Carnival adds five more Cuba cruises for 2018
Travel Weekly

Carnival Cruise Line has tacked on five more voyages featuring extended calls in Havana in 2018.

Like the previously scheduled ones, the cruises are on the Carnival Paradise sailing from Tampa.
