AA Flight Attendants Sue Over Uniforms

When American Airlines rolled out new crew uniforms last September, it was the first redesign of the uniforms in more than 30 years. Since then, the airline has distributed more than one million articles of clothing to its 70,000+ employees.

But crew members are decidedly unhappy with their new ensemble. More than 4,000 employees, including pilots and flight attendants, have registered grievances with the airline alleging that the uniforms cause health issues ranging from rashes to headaches to respiratory problems.


Allegiant announces $40M aircraft base in Indianapolis

Ultra low-cost carrier Allegiant will establish a new base of operations at the Indianapolis International Airport, investing more than $40 million.

Allegiant Travel Company announced at a news conference Wednesday plans to establish a two-aircraft base for its Airbus jets at the Indianapolis airport. The move is expected to create 66 new jobs.


Crystal takes delivery of luxury Boeing 777

Crystal has taken delivery of a customized Boeing 777 passenger jet which it will use for chartered tours.

The plane, called Crystal Skye, was handed over in a ceremony at Boeing Field in Seattle.  Crystal said it is the world’s largest privately owned tour jet.

Commercial airlines outfit the twin-engine widebody plane with between 314 and 396 seats. Crystal’s configuration will be for 88 passengers in lie-flat bed-style seats.


Marriott India to have 100 hotels by next year
The Tribune

American hospitality group Marriott International Inc will have 100 operational hotels in the country by 2018, a top executive has said.

The world’s largest hotel chain which began its operations in the country in 1997 with a project in Goa, currently has 86 hotels and 15 brands spanning 35 cities.
