East Coast Hyperloop One Step Closer to Reality

Elon Musk took to Twitter Thursday confirming that his Boring Company has reached a verbal agreement with government officials to construct a Hyperloop connecting Washington, D.C. and New York City.

Musk said the underground system would allow people to travel from D.C. to New York in under 30 minutes. The current drive takes about four hours to complete, while a train ride is just under three and a half hours.

 

Air France-KLM’s new airline to be called Joon

Air France has given a name to the airline it will launch this fall to compete against Gulf carriers Emirates, Etihad and Qatar on Asia routes.

Joon is the formal name for what Air France had called the “Boost project” since last November.

Joon will fly from Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport and will begin service with medium-haul flights. Long-haul routes will begin next summer.

 

Norwegian Air to fly from Denver to Paris

Norwegian Air is adding another U.S. route, revealing plans for non-stop service between Denver and Paris.

Starting April 9, the fast-growing European discount carrier will fly two flights a week on Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The flights – which will operate on Mondays and Fridays – will connect Denver to Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport. Norwegian is launching the route with economy class fares starting at $229 one way.

 

Eat, pray, sail? Windstar pairs James Beard chefs with upcoming cruises

Most cruise lines have a celebrity chef or two to brag about: They’re well-known culinary experts who help cruise companies deliver gourmet cuisine to passengers.

But Windstar Yachts, with just six ships in its fleet, has bragging rights to eight celebrity chefs, plus a partnership with the James Beard Foundation.

Six upcoming Windstar sailings will feature James Beard award-winning and nominated chefs who will serve up nightly signature items in AmphorA, the main dining room on each yacht.
