Christ the Redeemer Trail Closes Amid Robberies

Officials in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil have closed a popular hiking trail that leads to the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue in wake of a string of robberies.

According to The Independent, the 2.5-mile trail from Parque Lage to Corcovado has been temporarily closed after a Polish tourist was stabbed earlier this month.


Crystal composes series of shorter river cruises

Crystal River Cruises has added four shorter Danube sailings on the Crystal Mahler that are an alternative to the ship’s 16-day cruises.

The 106-passenger Mahler, scheduled to launch in September, will now sail three seven-day “Danube Serenade” itineraries between Budapest and Vienna, and one 11-day “Reflections on the Danube” sailing during April and May.


Blockbuster expansion: Frontier to add 21 cities, 85 routes

Frontier Airlines revealed a massive route expansion Tuesday that the company says will add 21 new destinations and 85 new routes to the carrier’s network. With that, the number of cities on Frontier’s route map will swell to 82 by next summer.

Also set for a dramatic increase is Frontier’s overall flight schedule. The airline will add dozens of non-stop flights between other cities that it already serves.


Disney reveals plans for ‘Star Wars’ immersive hotel

Hold on to your light sabers! Disney has unveiled a new way to experience the universe of Jedi, droids and wookiees — an immersive “Star Wars”-themed hotel.

Due to open as part of the hotly anticipated “Star Wars” land being added to Disney World in Orlando, the hotel will allow guests to go on their own adventures on a self-contained spaceship.

Tantalizing images of the hotel, complete with windows that show galactic views, were released as Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, revealed a slew of new attractions.
