South Florida’s newest Four Seasons property is nearing its debut.
On Friday, Miami-based developer Fort Partners hosted a formal ceremony for its new 77-room Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club, which is slated to open to guests on March 27.
The new luxury hotel at 9011 Collins Ave., in Surfside near Miami Beach is the second Four Seasons property for the development partnership led by CEO Nadim Ashi.
Italian flagship airline Alitalia presented Thursday a new business plan that includes 1 billion euros in cost-cutting in a bid to compete with low-cost carriers.
The new plan comes nearly three years after Abu Dhabi carrier Etihad Airlines took a controlling stake in the long-troubled airline.
Under the plan, Alitalia will introduce services common to budget carriers on flights of less than four hours, including charges for meals, priority boarding and preferred seating, while retaining the full-service model for longer-haul flights.
Lindblad going with inclusive pricing for two ships
Starting with April departures, Lindblad Expeditions’ cruises on the National Geographic Explorer and National Geographic Orion will be all-inclusive.
There will be no extra charge for guests’ bar tab, crew gratuities, activities, excursions and group flight transfers.
Tourists, camera crew avoid injury when Mount Etna erupts

A group of tourists and a television camera crew escaped serious injuries after Mount Etna in Italy erupted Thursday, CNN reported.
As Europe’s tallest active volcano, located on the island of Sicily, spewed steam and boiling hot rocks, a BBC camera crew and tourists sprinted to nearby vehicles and safely left the area.
Ten people were injured, but none seriously, the Italian news agency Ansa reported.
