2016 Edition: European Christmas Markets in 15 Photos

One of my favorite travel traditions is my annual trip to Europe to enjoy the continent’s Christmas markets. I always choose new places to explore, enjoying the destinations not only for the food and gluhwein, but for the culture and history I always discover along the way. This year I once again joined a Viking River Cruise as my way to get around the continent, starting in Paris and ending in Prague. Along the way I enjoyed many engaging and just plain fun cities and towns, all of them home to their own local Christmas markets. For this week’s photo series I thought I’d share some of my favorite images from this year’s annual Christmas pilgrimage and which, I hope, share the magic that is inherent in all of these cities during the Christmas season.
