Beauty of Safari in Tanzania in 16 Photos

A few months ago, I had the great pleasure to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to Africa with luxury tour provider Abercrombie & Kent. My partner and I enjoyed a week touring many of Tanzania’s most famous parks and reserves, seeing more wildlife and amazing landscapes than we ever thought possible. It was one of those rare trips that wasn’t just nice, but transformational in its effects. It’s also an adventure that I know will continue to affect my life throughout the years, as I reflect and gain even more insights from the experience. It’s hard to share such an extraordinary experience with others, but I hope these 16 photos provide at least a limited insight into the power of safari in Tanzania.

Great photos! I have never been in Tanzania but have explored Malaysia, which I also found a life changing experience.

It’s very difficult to describe the life changing experience of an African Safari. It’s spiritual – a religious experience. In France they named the yearning you get to go back after being in Africa – mal d’afrik (sp?)

Matt, I visited Tanzania last February, obviously in some of the same locales, and thanks to you I was back there this morning, if only in spirit. Dawn in Tanzania as you’ve depicted it made me feel I was witnessing the first day of Earth post-creation. The sense of peace and calm at that hour, surrounded by such unbroken stillness and primeval beauty, gave me a sense that “all is right with the world.” Thank you for rekindling that profound feeling.

WOW! Absolutely stunning photos! I have often wondered if a trip to Africa should be to Tanzania similar to your experience, or to South Africa and staying in the Ravineside Lodge at the Entabeni Safari Nature Reserve. Any comments on the best “safari” destination to Africa would be greatly appreciated. I probably won’t go twice so this is an important decision for me. Your photos make me want to go straight to Tanzania!
