1. Go, See, Write

I’m once again featuring Michael’s site because, well, it’s good. I like this piece because wine production is not something one necessarily associates with the Middle East, although the history of oenology in the region goes back millennia. Great review of a unique travel experience.

2. The Social Media Syndicate

This is a new one for me, but I want to highlight a Twitter hashtag, the Social Media Syndicate Mongol Rally Adventure. If you’re not aware, four travel superstars are currently driving from London to Mongolia in what is one of the most exciting adventures ever conceived. Every night I sit back and take a look at their tweets and blog posts from the day, excited to be living vicariously through them as they traverse Europe and Asia. Make sure you don’t miss their Tweets, it makes for a great read.

Hashtag – #mongolsms

This post caught my eye mostly because of our impending trip Down Under in a few weeks, but I’m really glad I read it. Honest and funny look at the best and worst of Australia, although I think the best category is looking a little inflated.

4. 501 Places

Once again Andy has turned his keen writing skills into a great post highlighting one of my favorite travel past-times, people watching. I have probably spent days, weeks even months engaged in this harmless activity which Andy so masterfully details for us.

    Hi Matt,

Good picks, as usual! I also agree with ANdy about including the MOngol Rally. Epic adventure!
Meanwhile, I ‘m curious how you select your weekly picks? Is it like Suzy Guese’s “Suzy Stumbles Travel”, where people submit their posts and she chooses her top 5 favs? Or do you just trawl over blogs you like to find good posts?

    cheers, Lash

Hey there! There’s no science to how I do it, just what I’ve found that week and liked. That being said, please let me know when you have a post you’re particularly proud of.
