LandLopers Picks of the Week

1. Go, See, Write

Michael has once again touched on an important and interesting topic, while dancing around the third rail that is Tibet. His critique and analysis of the Dalai Lama is compelling and interesting, and regardless of your personal views this post is worth the read.

What I DON’T Admire about the Dalai Lama

2. Traveling with Sweeney

I love this post about the realities of cruising. A lot of people are skeptical about the experience, but are too prejudiced to even try one. Cruises aren’t the Love Boat any more and I love this post for pointing out the adventure that can be found in a good cruise.

To Cruise or Not to Cruise

3. Angie Away

Angie is currently on a career break, exploring the world and apparently visiting every gorgeous beach on the planet. This post about her first time surfing adventure in Bali makes me want to pick up a long board and hit the waves, except for the fact that I would fall immediately and probably get really hurt. Still, we can live vicariously though this great post.

4. Solo Traveler

The highlight of Janice’s trip to Jordan wasn’t Petra or even the Dead Sea, rather it was the people she met, specifically the children. This is a great post to remind us that travel isn’t just about the places, it’s usually about the people.

The Wonderful Children of Jordan

Matt has a true passion for travel. As someone who has a bad case of the travel bug, Matt travels the world in order to share tips on where to go, what to see and how to experience the best the world has to offer.

  1. always honored to make your list of things to read and I TOTALLY am going to steal your great turn of phrase, because the Dalai Lama is the Third Rail when it comes to saying anything whatsoever negative about him. Thanks!

  2. Thanks so much Matt. It really is the people I meet who make the travel worthwhile. I hope you have fun in Jordan!!!
