As you probably know, I will be leaving on my trip to Lana’i next month as part of the Lana’i Visitor’s Bureau New Media Artist in Residence Program. This program will include several travel bloggers and podcasters who will each visit Lana’i at different times over a six-month period and tell their own personal stories about this unique island. The first of the group to journey to the island is Shannon, of Traveling Mamas. In the spirit of the inventive nature of the campaign, she has asked her readers to help decide her itinerary while in Hawaii. I hope you’ll stop by and vote for your favorites.
I don’t have a travel bucket list, but if I did this would be at the tippy top. I really want to visit Antarctica; so much so that there is simply no way to be emphatic enough. Suffice it to say, I want to go and would be wiling to sell rights to future children in return. That’s why I love this photo series by Dustin. The photography is stunning and makes me want to see it in person that much more.
Brendan is a great person, based entirely on online interactions of course. He could be a complete jerk, who knows. What I do know is that he runs a phenomenal web site and works hard to recognize the efforts of many other bloggers. In keeping with my apparent travel lust for Antarctica, here is a video post highlighting his recent trip. (is everyone going except me?)
I’m a little ashamed to say that this is a new site for me, but I’m thrilled that I found it. Although I’m not a backpacker, I do like to save money and often times find myself in similar circumstances as those who wear their lives on their back. I absolutely loved this post about spending time on a chicken bus, a once in a lifetime adventure that Lisa does a masterful job of illustrating.
