Travel Photo – Cliffs of Masada

Masada Cliffs

View of the cliffs of the ancient fortress Masada, which rises more than 1,300 feet and overlooks the Judean Desert and the Dead Sea.

The Masada fortress sits high atop an isolated rock plateau and is the legendary site of a Roman siege that prompted the residents to commit mass suicide rather than be captured. Today it is a remarkable monument to visit for the views as well as the history.
