Joy At First Sight: A Travel Photo Series

As you know, every Friday I participate in the weekly photo event #FriFotos. It’s something I really enjoy and this week I was particularly happy when I first read the theme: JOY. Travel provides joy in any number of ways, but what I want to share today is something a little different. I want to share the first images that come to mind when  I think of various places, the photographic memories that mean the most to me and which encapsulate the joy I felt visiting these cities and countries. Sometimes they were the first thing I saw (other than the airport) and other times they’re just strong, indelible memories. Either way, these photos are of places that gave me immense joy as soon as I saw them.
