Luxury Getaway in Downtown Perth

The capital of Western Australia, Perth, may not automatically spring to mind when you think of luxury retreats. I know it didn’t for me. But just because it’s one of the most remote cities in the world doesn’t mean visitors to Perth don’t like to be pampered. From fine dining to extraordinary experiences, there’s a lot for luxury travelers here and that’s especially well seen in one of the newest hotels in town, the Fraser Suites.

If you’re not familiar with the brand, Fraser specializes in extended luxury apartments in amazing places around the world. While the conveniences in each hotel may be intended for a longer stay, that doesn’t mean they’re not equally relaxing for a short term guest like myself. Fraser Suites Perth is located along the foreshore of the River Swan in East Perth, a great location that I came to really enjoy during my two days spent there.

Comfort

The first thing I noticed when I walked through the light and airy lobby of the hotel was the subtle smell of incense wafting through the air; it was like I had just entered a spa. That feeling of easy comfort and relaxation set the tone for the entire stay. Great hotel rooms should impress immediately and we were definitely surprised by the size of our ‘standard’ room at the Fraser. They feature suites, so we had a large living space, galley kitchen and of course the full bedroom and bath. There was even a washer and dryer tucked away in a closet, a much needed luxury after more than a week of traveling around Western Australia.

The views of the city and nearby river were stunning and combined with the stylish and modern design created a space of comfort and luxury. I honestly could not have been happier. Throughout our stay we experienced no problems with the room or even the hotel. Everything worked and anytime we needed something, a helpful employee was there to point us in the right direction. There’s a lot to be said for that in this world of diminishing hospitality.

Location

To be fair, the hotel is not located in the exact center of town where most of the other hotels are. It’s a few blocks away, but I never found it to be an inconvenience. We walked all around town and found the hotel to be a great location for all of our explorations. The middle of town was about a ten minute walk from the hotel and in the comfortable evenings was a great stroll. It was annoying though that there weren’t any food options nearby, that we had to go further into town whether we wanted to or not. But in the grand scheme of things, it wasn’t a hassle. Also, you should know that at the time of writing the hotel is also building some condominiums next door so there is some construction going on. But none of the noise permeated into the hotel and it really wasn’t an inconvenience.

Overall

I think that by this time you can guess that I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Fraser Suites in Perth. I’ve stayed at hundreds if not thousands of hotels around the world and few have been as comfortable as this one. I even stayed at multiple hotels in Perth and none can hold a candle to the Fraser Suites. So if you are fortunate enough to find yourself in Perth, don’t think about it, just book a room at the Fraser Suites.
