I recently took part in an exciting event hosted by WIRED Insider and Marriott Hotels and Resorts, the second installment in their Culturazzi series of events, an evening with Funny or Die. The night of humor took place on the rooftop of the gorgeous Marriott Marina del Rey, which features a 360 degree view of the city, water and mountains; the perfect setting for a classic LA event.
Walking through the hotel I was amazed at the rebirth Marriott has undergone. Erased from the company’s memory are the stodgy lobbies of old. In their place are fun, light, airy and functional Great Rooms. Score of outlets makes it a great place to surf the web, do some work while watching TV, sipping a beer and nibbling on some snacks. This cool attitude permeates throughout the rest of the hotel, as this video featuring highlights of the Funny or Die event shows.

I was compensated for my time with Marriott, but as always all thoughts and opinions are absolutely my own.

Who am I? I am a typical Gen-Xer and recovering cubicle-dweller who has a passion for all things travel. My site brings a unique perspective that is hard to find online. I am not a backpacker, nor am I...
