Top Vacation Ideas for Independent Travel
A couple of weeks ago I read The $100 Start Up by Chris Guillbeau. The book changed my entire outlook on everything in my life and left me yearning to hear more from Chris and people like him. The best opportunity for that is at the World Domination Summit and while I couldn’t attend I am really enjoying experiencing it through the eyes of writers like Chris Gray Faust. In this post Chris outlines what the conference meant to her and an immediate change that everyone can and should make in their lives.
Giving Up My Birthday for Charity
I’m fortunate for a lot of reasons and I know that. I also personally think that I’m very lucky to be an American and am thankful for the world of opportunities that exist due to my citizenship. That being said, one of the closest countries to he U.S. is also the most forbidden, Cuba. Even though the restrictions have been loosened, they still exist which is why I depend on great posts like this one by Iain that brings to life a destination I’m not allowed to see.

Matt –
Thanks so much for promoting this post. It’s one that means a lot to me. I hope you’ll get to come to the World Domination Summit next year. You’d get a lot out of it, I’m sure! I’m glad that Chris Guillebeau’s book resonated with you. I’m reading it now as well, and getting a lot out of it. Hope to see you on the road soon.
Best,

Matt, I am so honored to be included in this week’s picks considering the other selections are just so darn good! Thank you for the support of my little corner of the world. Your blog is one of my favorite travel blogs. You along with Spencer of The Traveling Philosopher bring another level to the game with your insightfulness, it is not just about traveling someplace but rather how that experience impacts your life, it is not trivial or superficial and I love it. You always get me thinking!
