An important part of my work on LandLopers is partnering with destinations and like-minded companies in order to bring you, the reader, interesting and helpful information. Whenever I decide to work with a company or destination, I always weigh the benefits to the site and reader first, rather than enter into an agreement that doesn’t make sense. So far these partnerships have included a wide range or organizations including Jordan, Lufthansa, Lanai and Australia just to name a few. Whenever I decide to work with a new destination or company, it’s with the understanding that I will always provide helpful and honest reviews and information to my readers, regardless of who paid for the trip. I think I’ve done a good job staying true to this, sometimes drawing the ire of agencies or destinations that would prefer I not write negative content. But what is most important to me is being honest and offering fun and engaging content, and that won’t change.
That being said, I am excited to announce a new and slightly different partnership with AMResorts. AMResorts is the provider of sales, marketing and brand management services to five brands of exclusive resort properties in Mexico and the Dominican Republic: Zoëtry Wellness & Spa Resorts; Secrets Resorts & Spas; Dreams Resorts & Spas; Now Resorts & Spas and Sunscape Resorts and Spas.
Rather than just going on and writing about a blog or press trip, this is a different kind of partnership. Depending on how the trial run goes, I will be serving as a brand ambassador for their resorts, experiencing firsthand the properties and nearby activities and sharing that information with you all. I will also be writing posts for the AMResorts blog, adding an independent blogger twist to the site.
I’m extremely excited about this opportunity for a few reasons. First, resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean are terrific getaways for North Americans, Europeans and indeed people around the world. I’ve covered them in the past and I think that the reviews have resonated. If you’re familiar with my site, you know that I’m an active traveler and so I will be exploring the local areas as well to see what’s there and whether or not it makes for a truly great travel destination. True to form, I will highlight the best and worst of the experience so that you may make well informed travel and vacation decisions.
This is somewhat new territory for a travel blogger. I’ve been on many press trips, but the idea of an ongoing relationship is a little different and definitely exciting. The first stage of this social media experiment will start soon. In December I will travel to Dreams Puerto Vallarta, on the Pacific side of Mexico. I’ve never visited this part of the country and in addition to the resort, I am excited to explore new territory.
I’m not sure how this will go or how it will be received, but I hope you will follow along as I explore some exciting new properties and destinations.
What do you think of this new partnership?

Who am I? I am a typical Gen-Xer and recovering cubicle-dweller who has a passion for all things travel. My site brings a unique perspective that is hard to find online. I am not a backpacker, nor am I...

Way to go Matt, it seems you are helping destinations, travel and hospitality organisations crack their future, blogger review. Your blog’s your baby, a corporate blog is nobody’s.

Congrats, Matt! I just spent 5 days at a resort in Cabo and loved it, despite never having been to Mexico before and generally preferring authentic, budget travel.

Thanks, but authentic doesn’t have to be budget. I haven’t been a budget traveler in a long time, but I think my experiences have been pretty great.
