Hello and welcome! If you’ve found this page, then you’re interested in my work as a freelance travel writer. Most of my work has been in the digital world, writing more than 500 pieces for LandLopers.com as well as for many other online blogs and web sites on a variety of travel related topics.
I have a different background than your average travel writer, I come from the background of a full-time, 9-5 professional working in the government affairs and communications realm since 2000. During that time I have worked consistently on a variety of communications efforts geared towards external as well as internal audiences. This of course has involved a considerable amount of writing for everything from newsletters to trade press magazines.
As a travel writer, I cover a variety of destinations with a strong emphasis on experiential and what I call pre-luxury travel. That’s not to say that I don’t enjoy process pieces or travel tips, I do, which can be seen in some of my most popular content on LandLopers.com.
I am open to a variety of writing platforms, from corporate blogs, web sites, magazines, almost anything geared towards travel and the travel experience. Below are just a few examples of my professional work. I also have a strong social media background and can help companies and destinations better promote themselves in this always changing platform. If you’re interested in working with me and discussing how we can create something great together, I’d love to chat with you. Please feel free to use my contact form or just email me directly at Matt at LandLopers dot com.
