I was awakened this morning by some pigeons who apparently had a roost above my tent in the Wadi Rum desert camp. Since I was up early, I used my time to pay another visit to the baby camels and to explore the area. After a hearty breakfast, we left for the port city of Aqaba. May 25th was Independence Day in Jordan, and the popular Red Sea resort town was packed with holiday makers. I escaped town by taking a boat ride out to snorkel in the warm waters of the Red Sea. The sights below the waters were amazing, another brilliant display by Mother Nature in Jordan.

Jordan sounds more and more interesting the more I learn about it. I’ll be heading there in a few months, at the latest!
